In this episode of the This is My Architecture - amzn.to/2Mecn8D, Oswaldo, and Felipe explains how they are scaling their learning management system, running on top of Moodle, to millions of students using Amazon Aurora, leveraging Amazon Aurora read replica Auto Scaling to scale their database during peak hours, Amazon SQS and AWS Lambda. Kroton has offloaded the activity tracking logs to SQS and then EC2 workers consume the queue during the night to persist the logs into their Amazon Aurora database. For file uploads, they are using leveraging Amazon S3 events with AWS Lambda to perform async processing and reach scale.
