An empty shelf in a supermarket is a large inconvenience to both store and customer. Keeping the shelf stocked and labelled correctly lets customers buy the products they want with a price that matches from shelf to till. Until now live shelf monitoring has been expensive and costly. Shelf Optimiser introduces a low footprint, low cost solution backed by AWS services to enable live store metrics and make empty shelves a thing of the past.

We've built a smart shelf utilising a minimal hardware footprint and off the shelf AWS technologies. The low cost design makes use of serverless AWS technologies to allow it to seamless scaling to any demand. The hardware device integrates with AWS services to do the more complex image processing whilst the analysis of the results and monitoring of other sensors is done offline to allow for running even when an internet connection is out.
