The argument for buying a budget flagships is more about common sense than anything. You are getting all the power of a the best phone money can buy, without having to lose an arm and a leg in the process to pay for it. In that sense OnePlus has been king. The company has taken the US by storm with their most recent launches, and the OnePlus 7T marked a more aggressive approach where a lot of the fluff of the 7 was removed in order to shave the price.
Thing is, that doesn’t change the fact that OnePlus is a relatively new brand when compared to more established players that start playing with their prices once products reach an inflection point. Such is the case of the Samsung Galaxy S10+ which can sometimes be found for just $130 more.
Yes, there are more than six months in-between these two phone launches, and yet I know lots of people who would prefer to choose brand over specs and price when the difference is so insignificant.
