Amazon Q generative SQL capability in Amazon Redshift Query Editor provides SQL code recommendations based on natural language requests, thereby boosting the productivity of analysts, scientists, and engineers by quickly generating queries tailored to their data warehouse, allowing them to extract insights more efficiently. It analyzes user intent, query patterns, and schema metadata using Large Language Models (LLMs) to quickly produce customized and personalized SQL code for your Redshift data warehouse. Thus, this feature enables users of all skill levels to derive insights faster by accurately translating plain English requests into SQL code, thereby simplifying query authoring and increasing user productivity. The feature was launched during AWS re:Invent 2023, and is currently available for public preview in the AWS Regions of us-east-1 (N. Virginia), us-west-2 (Oregon) and eu-central-1 (Frankfurt).
