Welcome to your Fire tablet. This video explains the screen magnifier, which makes your screen bigger in order to read items more easily.
Screen Magnifier is an assistive technology ideal for customers with low vision. When the Screen Magnifier is turned on, you can use gestures to expand your screen to read items more easily.
To activate Screen Magnifier, go to *Settings* and select *Accessibility* from the Home screen
From there, scroll down the list to Magnification.
Three options appear ...
...Screen Magnifier, which enables the use of gestures to magnify the screen.
...Magnify Keyboard and Navigation Bar, which magnifies the keyboard when typing text and the navigation bar at the bottom of the screen.
...And Auto Pan to Screen Updates, which allows you to move the zoomed area to where the UI has changed.
Once you’ve selected the options you want, you can then navigate back to the Home screen and begin using Screen Magnifier.
To magnify the screen, triple tap the screen with one finger
If the screen does not magnify, try slowing down or speeding up your tapping speed. This gesture toggles magnification on or off.
To pan the magnified area, hold two fingers slightly apart and drag them across the screen.
To adjust the zoom level, pinch inwards or outwards with two fingers.
For temporary magnification, triple tap the screen with a finger and then hold it on the third tap. As you keep holding, drag your finger around the screen to pan. When you're finished, lift your finger.
When *Magnify Keyboard & Navigation Bar* is activated, the keyboard will be magnfied when you triple tap the screen with one finger
When *Auto Pan to Screen Updates* is activated, the zoom area will automatically move to any updated area of the screen, such as a notification box or text field
To turn off Screen Magnifier, or other magnification options, navigate to Settings, Accessibility, then Magnification. Tap Screen Magnifier to deactivate the button, and tap continue to confirm.
