This video is about the new features available to iPhone users with iOS 18. There are many new tricks you can use to improve your phone experience.

Wi-Fi sharing
One new trick: users can now share Wi-Fi with their friends via QR code, making it easier to share with multiple friends simultaneously, even Android users.

Schedule messages
It’s now possible to schedule your SMS to send at a later time or date. Perfect for birthday messages or contacts in different time zones.

RCS messaging
RCS messaging for iPhone with iOS 18.1 means that ‘delivered’ status messages, emoji reactions, and high-quality video and photo sharing between Android and iPhone devices is now possible. It doesn’t yet support end-to-end encryption between Android and iOS as it does with Android to Android, but that is coming. A user’s carrier must also support this technology, and it must be toggled on by going to Settings, Apps, Messages, RCS Messaging

Satellite Messaging
Another important update to Messages is Satellite Messaging. Emergency SOS uses satellite-based service to connect you to emergency services in the case of an emergency. With the iOS update, it now allows satellite phone service to connect messages sent from the Messages app in a dead zone, as well as support streaming audio and video. Very helpful, but hopefully not something that will often be needed.

Visual Intelligence
Another iOS 18 feature is Visual Intelligence, which allows you to get information about an object by pointing your phone at something and getting information about it with a long press. See restaurant menus and opening times, hotel reviews, information about vintage video games, and much more besides.

Apple Cash
Apple Cash makes transferring money between users simple. Authenticate each user, touch your phones together, and the money is sent. Very straightforward!

Voice Memos
If you struggle with remembering why you recorded Voice Memos, Apple has incorporated the ability to transcribe them and search your transcriptions. This will make them easier to use and refer to after the fact.

QoL improvements
A few quality-of-life improvements iOS 18 has brought:
- Typing to Siri instead of talking to it. Useful for those with voices or dialects that Siri struggles to pick up.
- Restarting your phone with a long press of the power button in the control center.
- Change the width of your flashlight beam to suit your purpose.
