[THE LEFTOVERS: 2025]

Looking back at the channel as we close out 2025 … man, it’s been a wild year. Smart glasses seemed to turn some kind of corner, finally feeling a little more mainstream; folding phones got stronger, thinner and generally more ambitious; a new category of dumb devices let me dabble in digital detox; and I got to test the latest smartwatches while crossing the Atlantic on the world’s last ocean liner. Hell, Apple even made the iPhone kinda fun again.

But as much as I tried to squeeze in over the year, there are always a few morsels left behind. A Pro version of an oddball pocket e-reader; earbuds with a walkie-talkie button; a kids phone that’s not actually a phone; and more. These are the products I missed in 2025 that still merit mentioning.
