The WRX is like that: not for one second will we pretend it’s faultless, but when it’s good, it’s very, very good; and on these roads, it’s wonderful, a no-holds-barred driver’s car that’s putting a huge smile on my face and letting me play out my every rally-driving fantasy.
Eventually, though, we tear ourselves away from this glorious scenery for an important appointment. We’re due at Prodrive’s HQ, where we’ve arranged to meet the company’s Technical Director, David Lapworth.
