Hyundai says that the new 2022 #HyundaiSantaCruz is not a truck. But it has a bed, tail-gate, steps, and can power all four wheels. It also has a turbocharged 2.5-liter engine making 281HP and 311LB-FT of torque, fed to the wheels through an 8-speed dual clutch. It weighs about 4,000lbs, shares some bones with the Tucson, and will get 19/22/27 MPG. If it's not a car and it's not a truck, what is it?

*Clarification: The Hyundai Santa Cruz possesses a maximum payload of 1,748 pounds of cargo. The Gross Vehicle Weight rating is 5600-5700, and considering it weighs 3700-4100lbs, the 15-1700lbs (depending on the spec) payload is for all cargo/persons, not just bed cargo.
