From back-to-basics sports cars to hybridised exotica, the last 12 months have been chock full of some very serious performance cars. In evo Car of the Year 2022, we put eight of the finest through their paces on some of the UK's most challenging roads to determine our winner.

*UPDATE* To answer the questions in the comments: Lotus and Corvette pulled the Emira and C8 a couple of weeks before the test due to supply and tech support issues. You can't get a Z06 in the UK yet.
