In California and several other states, lawmakers want to phase out the sale of internal combustion engines entirely over the next 12 years. But as we have learned over and over, the public charging infrastructure is not remotely ready for this, and EV's have other looming questions surrounding the globial ethics of mining and processing rare-earth metals. But the latest crop of small-battery plug-in Hybrids is getting super impressive. To learn the difference, Matt and Zack take a short road trip in the Polestar 2 high-performance EV and the Volvo XC60 Recharge plug-in Hybrid.
