Well, we are in it now. Project K244 is underway as we attempt the world's first* Honda K-series engine swap of a messed-up Porsche 944. Why? Well, why did we go to the moon?

Today, we're dressing the K24 motor to get ready for its first test fit. This is an essential step in any engine swap project, but it's especially important here because the K24 was designed for front-wheel-drive Hondas, not 40-year-old RWD coupes. To get it in the Porsche requires a bunch of specific parts and special adaptors—some from other Hondas, and others from the aftermarket.

Now there are legit companies like KPower Industries that can hook you up with most of what you need for a general RWD setup. But there's only one company that makes a kit to K-swap a Porsche 944... actually, it's just a guy we found online. And his instructions... were unclear.

*we know, we know, other K-swapped 944s exist. This is the first one to be done with an untested and allegedly plug and play kit vs total custom fabrication.
