If you want to know how far a street-legal hypersport tire can really be pushed, the public road isn’t the place to find out—the racetrack is. That’s exactly where Bridgestone sent us to test its all-new Battlax RS12, taking us to the legendary Chang International Circuit in Buriram, Thailand, home of MotoGP since 2018.

Designed as the ultimate ride-to-the-track, no warmers needed tire, the RS12 replaces the RS11 with claims of better performance in every category. Bridgestone leaned heavily on its “circuit to street” philosophy, pulling technology straight from its racing programs—including updated compounds, a revised tread design, and internal construction changes aimed at improved braking stability, corner grip, and consistency over long sessions.

We tested the RS12 on 200+ hp liter bikes, including the Honda CBR1000RR SP, on a circuit known for brutal braking zones, high-speed straights, and massive lean angles. The result? Fast warm-up, excellent front-end feel, smooth transitions at full lean, and impressive durability even after repeated hard laps. Grip was strong, predictable, and—most importantly—consistent as the day wore on.

Bridgestone claims riders were able to lap nearly 1% faster compared to the RS11, with reduced performance drop-off as the tire wears—and based on our track time, those claims hold up.

👉 Is the Battlax RS12 one of the best DOT trackday tires you can buy right now? Watch the full review to find out.
