The Alpinestars Supertech R7 is the more affordable — and street-oriented — sibling to the flagship R10 — but does it still deliver race-level performance?

After spending time with it, the answer is pretty clear. The R7 brings impressive aerodynamic stability, a wide field of view, and ventilation that actually works at real-world speeds. It also features Alpinestars’ A-Head fit system and integrates cleanly with Alpinestars' new A-Connect comm system.

But it’s not perfect. The visor mechanism can be a bit finicky, and that might test your patience.

So is the Supertech R7 the sweet spot between street comfort and track capability?
