Yes, yes: we know the official English-language prefix for "eight" is "octo," but you have to agree that "octa" just sounds -and looks- a whole lot better. And based on Samsung's choice of spelling on the box that just rolled into our office, the company agrees with us. Besides, admit it: after a week watching us dissect the quad-core American variant of the Galaxy S 4, you're hankering for a peek at its Exynos-powered eight-core sibling, no matter how we spell it.
Behold: the phone we Yankees call the "international version" of Samsung's latest Android flagship, known to its friends as the Galaxy S 4 - but you can call it the GT-I9500. It's packing an HSPA+ radio, a 5-inch 1080p S-AMOLED display, and the same Midnight Black paint job we've come to know pretty well over the past week. But oh, that chip underneath it all. It's different. So different.
More thoughts on that in the week ahead, though. For now, tune in to our Galaxy S 4-edition Pocketnow Weekly podcast, or fire up today's Galaxy S 4-focused episode of the Pocketnow Live reader hangout - then foist your eyeballs on the video below to check out the contents of the faux-wooden box that ferried this phone to us. Drop your octa-themed thoughts (and requests!) in the comments below, and stay tuned for much more on Samsung's latest superphone from Pocketnow.
