In this video, we are going to walk you through the steps necessary to root your Kindle Fire.

You will need:

A Kindle Fire
A microUSB cable
The Android SDK installed and configured (ADB)
In the case of this video, a Windows machine (although the instructions can be translated to any OS)

The hardest part, if you've never rooted a device before, is dealing with getting the Android SDK installed for the first time. There are plenty of instructions out there for this task, but feel free to ask if you need help.

Once you have your device rooted, you can navigate to the link below and install the Google Services Framework and any of the Google Apps you desire.
