Cochlear uses AWS for an automated solution that gets replacement parts for hearing devices delivered to customers in 24 hours or less instead of days or even a week that it used to take in the past. The Australian company, a global provider of implantable medical devices used by people who are profoundly deaf, built an application stack on AWS to streamline replacement parts ordering, helping minimize the time that customers go without their hearing devices and eliminating time-consuming parts processing tasks for clinicians. By using AWS, Cochlear also avoided the expensive and time-consuming overhead of creating and maintaining an IT infrastructure for the solution.
