Wehkamp is the largest e-commerce retailer in the Netherlands. In a move to expand into Belgium, it wanted a new cloud platform that was more agile and responsive than the IT system used to run its original site. It turned to AWS, using a number of services for its testing, development, and production environments.
By using AWS, Wehkamp was able to deploy its new platform in about six months—compared to 12-18 months using its prior IT platform—and can delivery updates and new features several times a day, instead of one every two weeks as it did in the past. It also now has a highly scalable platform that easily manages seasonal spikes in traffic.
