Kingston is shipping an updated version of the KC300 Business Client Solid-State Drive. This new version supports both TCG Opal 2.0 and IEEE 1667 and there are no changes in drive performance as a result of this update, as Linus can attest. This new configuration is set at the factory and cannot be enabled via field updater. It is easy to identify which version of the drive you are using by looking at the label. The new label contains the 32-character PSID, which makes it easier to revert a managed drive back to factory default.
