As designers and researchers, we aspire to equitably address underrepresented populations in our work. But, prioritizing equitable choices can be hard when there are competing organizational interests and incentives.
In this talk, Nithya and Jen will present lessons from their work successfully building equitable technologies guided by ethics and social inclusion. Drawing from their experiences, the duo will present a practical framework for applying equitable design and research in the product development process—sharing how to make the case for equitable design, how to create a foundation of insights to guide decisions, and how to make an impact on products.
