Maryland Department of Human Services Transforms Delivery of Human Services with AWS

The Maryland Department of Human Services (DHS) improved case worker efficiency, reduced operational costs, and diminished fraud by protecting data integrity with their Total Human-services Integrated Network (MD THINK), built on Amazon Web Services (AWS) in 13 months. The Maryland DHS serves over one million people each year, and it is the state’s primary social service provider with 24 local departments of social services that provide assistance to people in economic need, provide preventative services, and protect children and adults across the state. MD THINK is a secure and cost-effective platform that is compliant with IRS pub 1075, NIST, HIPAA, FISMA, and MARS-E; the platform runs on Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (Amazon EC2), Amazon Elastic Block Storage (EBS), and more.
