For the past three years, Singapore Exchange has been exploring the use of blockchain in trading financial assets across a group of institutions. They started by trialling the use of digital currency in Real-Time Gross Settlement (RTGS), and recently they tested Delivery vs Payment (DvP) for domestic securities settlement. Peter Shen from Singapore Exchange shares how DvP uses both a Hyperledger Fabric network on Amazon Managed Blockchain and an Ethereum client to allow a buyer to trade digital cash for government bonds. Peter also shares his thoughts on trust and decentralization - both common topics in the world of blockchain.
