Today, Brad talks to the Chief Cybersecurity Officer at Siemens USA, Kurt John. Kurt shares why he has selected cloud-based security tools to protect his organization, and he explains how he works with the broader IT organization to manage where data moves and how it's protected.

Kurt and Brad also discuss the business value of counteracting diverse threats by developing a diverse team that can better understand and responds to these attacks, as well as the opportunity for the 3 million unfilled cybersecurity positions to make a major impact on challenges of social equity.

Amidst all this, they're interrupted by a phone call from a quantum tachyonologist before pivoting into a discussion about how Kurt mentors aspiring cybersecurity experts.

Other discussion topics: Grand pianos, pink Starburst, forklifts, Jean-Claude Van Damme, Microsoft 365, manatees, patents, spiders, Jean-Luc Picard, time travel, "cosmic opportunities," UB40, bigfoot, salsa, and RoboCop.
