Powered by Nokia's industry-leading solution, Belgian telco operator Proximus launched the world's first 25 Gigabit per second live fiber network at a media event on May 26 in the city of Antwerp. 25G PON is the next step in the evolution of PON technology. It will provide the high capacity needed for the open network Proximus is making available to all operators in the country and will enable high bandwidth applications like 5G backhaul.
