Calling a VertexAI endpoint directly from AlloyDB SQL calls allows you to integrate AI/ML results directly into your SQL queries. This video walks through the process. How to set up a VertexAI model and how to call it from AlloyDB. This particular case is for checking retail transactions to see if a charge is fraudulent, but the process is similar regardless of your use-case.
