We delve into how Grab built GrabDefence to enhance its fraud detection capabilities by employing a combination of fit-for-purpose databases including Amazon Neptune (graph), Amazon Managed Streaming for Apache Kafka (streaming), Amazon DynamoDB (key-value), Amazon ElastiCache (in-memory), and Amazon Relational Database Service (relational). The integration of diverse AWS services enabled Grab to efficiently process Terabytes of logs per day for millions of users and analyze complex data sets, leading to more accurate fraud detection in their mobile operations.
