Pierre Gustafsson, head of the business management function for AI at Ericsson, looks at the combination of Ericsson telecom expertise and AWS cloud and AI knowledge for driving innovation in the telecom industry through strategic collaboration and leveraging LLMs.

Ericsson has been working with AI and large language models (LLMs) for a long time, specifically fine-tuning and building LLMs for the telecom industry with an approach called Ericsson Language Intelligence (ELI). The recent boom in generative AI has brought AI to the forefront at this year's DTW event, where Ericsson was showcasing two AI demos in collaboration with AWS - one for intelligent interaction with telecom networks, and another for automatically slicing and scaling 5G networks.
