Helping Telefónica create the foundation for Spain’s digital future

Nokia was selected by Telefónica to deploy new AI-ready edge data center networks across Spain, making a significant step forward in their next-generation digital infrastructure journey.

Nokia data center networking solutions will be implemented in Telefonica’s new Edge node project, which will support AI training and inferencing at the edge and power essential digital services in healthcare, education, industry and government.

Nokia will be exclusively responsible for deploying network solutions to support 17 edge nodes, including connectivity for compute and storage inside the nodes as well as connecting them to the outside world. 12 of these have already been deployed, including at Telefónica’s flagship Tecno-Alcalá site, one of the largest data centers in the world.
