Aeromexico, Mexico's flagship carrier, faced a critical crossroads: aging data centers, expiring hardware contracts, and hundreds of legacy applications holding back innovation. Rather than patch the old, the airline chose to modernize, partnering with AWS on a bold, four-year cloud transformation journey.

In this video, Aeromexico CIO Fernando Rocha shares how the airline migrated 50 VMware applications to the cloud in approximately 60 days using Amazon Elastic VMware Service (Amazon EVS), a process that would have traditionally taken up to 12 months. With zero downtime to airline operations, Aeromexico achieved 3x–10x faster speed to market, improved app performance and security, and now runs approximately 90% of its applications in the cloud.
