The Toyota Tacoma Trailhunter comes off the showroom floor with just about every accessory you'd imagine seeing on an overland-style modded truck. Here’s a close look at all the interesting stuff it's got with an evaluation from our executive editor and his dog.
This particular truck has so many unique features that we thought it’d be worth making a video tour to accompany our written review. We did our best to add technical context in simple terms—if you're a hardcore off-road nerd, feel free to elaborate on things in the comments! And if you’d like to crawl around more vehicles with us in this kind of video, let us know.
The Trailhunter is a brand new trim level for the new-for-’24 fourth-gen Tacoma. While the TRD Off-Road is still available as a general-purpose trail runner and the TRD Pro remains the ranger-topper for dune bashing, this Trailhunter variant is supposed to be focused on long-distance off-grid adventuring and camping. Hence, the deep catalog of bolt-ons.
At over $60,000 to start it’s not cheap, but it’s also pretty novel to get this comprehensive of an accessory loadout in a factory truck. You don’t need all these toys to have a good time overlanding, but they certainly can be fun.
Check out the writeup on our site for more details and “is it worth it” commentary. Or skip ahead to any specific part of the truck you’d like to get a closer look at.
