The Ford Mustang's solid rear axle certainly has some handling downsides compared to more modern independent rear suspension. But as performance driving coach Nik Romano explains, there are legitimate reasons Ford stuck with that old-school design all the way to 2015, decades after it was abandoned by every other sports car on the market.
