The two 720p HD cameras built into the Surface Pro aren't professional quality at all. You shouldn't use these for anything other than Skype video calls anyway. Instead, I'm going to use the Surface Pro to control a Nikon D7000 digital SLR using Nikon Camera Control Pro 2. There are programs like this for most professional DSLR cameras and many of them support wireless controls over WiFi if your camera has a WiFi adapter.
