The Samsung Focus is much less expensive than the Thunderbolt at $99 versus $249, respectively. For data plans, you'll have a $25 per month 2GB plan on the Focus, and a $30 per month unlimited plan for the HTC Thunderbolt.

The Focus runs on Windows Phone 7, while the Thunderbolt runs on Android 2.2, so there are few similarities between the two. In terms of web browsing performance, the Thunderbolt was faster in all of our tests. The Thunderbolt was also much faster with internet data speed, thanks to its 4G modem.

The Super AMOLED screen of the Focus had much more contrast than the Super LCD display of the Thunderbolt. Also, the Focus is far thinner and lighter weight than the Thunderbolt.
