Sony Vaio Duo 11 Hands On

Sony surprised us a bit during IFA when it took the wraps off of its Windows 8-powered Vaio Duo 11 tablet/hybrid. The device has a snappy little hinge that can quickly be shifted to reveal a full QWERTY keyboard. Sony will release three SKUs of the Vaio Duo 11 with either an Intel Core i7, Core i5 or Core i3 chip on board. Other features include 4GB or 8GB of RAM, 128GB or 256GB of solid-state storage, USB 3.0, Ethernet, Bluetooth 4.0, Intel HD Graphics 4000, HDMI-out, a full HD web camera, NFC and much more.

We love the design of the Vaio Duo 11, especially since it felt very solid. Unfortunately, that stability came with a price: the device felt thick compared to most tablets on the market today. We're expecting the Vaio Duo 11 to launch sometime this fall when Windows 8 makes its debut, although Sony didn't provide pricing.
