International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) control the export of defense related articles on the U.S. Munitions List (USML). Organizations and individuals with ITAR-controlled information are generally required to take necessary steps to make sure only U.S. Persons can view covered data, and that this data is hosted on U.S. soil. AWS GovCloud (US) addresses ITAR compliance requirements. AWS GovCloud (US) is Amazon's isolated cloud region, accessible only to vetted root account holders who are U.S. Persons.
