Watch this AWS TechTips 10-minute demo and learn how to switch from tape to cloud backups with AWS Storage Gateway. Senior Product Manager Peter Baltatzidis will walk you through the step-by-step process on getting started in the AWS Console, deploying your new Tape Gateway appliance in your environment, and beginning backup jobs in under 10 minutes. The video features use of Veeam Backup and Replication with the Tape Gateway Virtual Tape Library (VTL) configuration of AWS Storage Gateway, including the following steps:
1. In AWS Console Select type of Storage Gateway and hypervisor
2. Deploy Tape Gateway appliance in your environment
3. Provision local disk for cache and upload buffer
4. Connect and activate Tape Gateway appliance
5. Create virtual tapes
6. Connect Tape Gateway to backup application (Veeam in this case)
7. Import new tapes into backup application
8. Begin backup jobs
9. Archive tapes for storage on Amazon Glacier
10. Retrieve tape to any Tape Gateway for recovery
