AWS London Summit 2018 - Breakout Session:
As a global consulting firm, KPMG has clients ranging from financial institutions to market leading retailers. The data we work with is often classified as confidential and the applications are required to be highly available. Over the past year, we migrated some of our critical Microsoft applications to AWS. These applications receive and process data from our clients. So, migration plan included scrutinizing data migration and cut over strategy.
In this talk, we’ll discuss the approach we took to architecting the solution on AWS, how we built the AWS environments with security in mind and how we handled the challenges in migrating a live service. We will explore AWS services such as Amazon EC2, AWS Systems Manager, Amazon RDS and AWS Lambda, and the DevOps tools we employed to manage the environments. Through this talk one can identify suitable patterns and tools to plan a Microsoft application migration to AWS.
