In this episode, we took the site we built in our last stream and learned how to make it highly scalable and ready to accept large amounts of traffic. Sign up for AWS Educate at - amzn.to/2y6yb05.
The architecture we reviewed will create a highly available site using Elastic Load Balancing with an Amazon EC2 instance. We also dove into connecting a relational database using Amazon Aurora, and will explain how and why you would use these services to run a content management system in a production environment.
Before diving into how to put the pieces together, we discussed how Lyft uses some of these services to manage up to eight times more riders during peak time and how Epic Games (the creators of Fortnite) utilizes AWS to reliably support millions of players who flock to the game to win a Battle Royale.
