SundaySky: Cost Anomaly Detection in AWS Spend

SundaySky needed to quickly detect anomalies in their AWS usage cost. In one night they developed a solution that takes AWS Cost and Usage Reports from S3, loads them into Redshift using Lambda, and runs queries to create alerts and dashboards based on their spend. By comparing the last 2 days of usage with the previous 2 weeks, they’re able to quickly identify any operational anomalies and immediately address them.
