Learn more about AWS Serverless Application Model (SAM) at – amzn.to/2m0yQ0y
Sanath Kumar Ramesh
Serverless services like AWS Lambda allow developers to build and run applications without thinking about servers. In 2016, we released an open specification called Serverless Application Model (SAM), a simple configuration file to define Lambda functions and other serverless resources. Since then we have open sourced the underlying implementation of SAM and several other tools to simplify the process of building serverless applications, including SAM CLI, a popular CLI tool to run SAM-based applications on a local computer before deploying to the cloud. In this talk, we will touch upon the story of open sourcing the SAM toolset. The talk will dive deep into how an open specification has kindled and nurtured a suite of open source projects including serverless examples, reference architectures, libraries, CLIs, and plugins.
