The Indiana Pacers visit Seattle this week in a Shiproom episode featuring Courtney Cole, the VP of Technology for Pacers Sports & Entertainment.
Courtney talks about how his organization has worked extensively with the Microsoft Managed Desktop (MMD) service, as well as the value his organization has seen from using MMD to offload IT minutiae, keep software/hardware up and running, and focus instead on strategic projects for the business.
They discuss how using MMD can help a small IT department scale, manage images, manage deployment, and rely on Microsoft for troubleshooting security and productivity.
The guys also eat food from the Indiana State Fair (brain sandwiches?!), get interrupted by a guitar solo, and talk at length about security strategy -- both technological and cultural.
Other discussion topics: Sports mascots, "What is a Pacer?," and t-shirt cannons.
