Tshwane University of Technology (TUT) are the only South African University that have an ICT campus based in the township I.e. Shoshanguve. AWS sponsored a hackathon from 25 – 28 September 2019 for participants from their Shoshanguve, eMalahleni and Polokwane campuses. AWS engineers and architects assisted learners with cloud computing skills, demos and support throughout the competition registering learners on AWS Educate and enrolling lecturers on AWS Academy. AWS Activate offered additional prizes, technical support and credits to the winning teams.
