BEAT is a technology company and ride-hailing application. It creates an amazing transportation experience by connecting thousands of passengers with nearby drivers in real-time, available 24/7.

The company was founded in 2011 in Athens, Greece and is part of the FREE NOW group, the ride-hailing joint venture of BMW and Daimler, global leader in the booming ride-hailing industry. Since its launch, BEAT has run on Amazon Web Services (AWS).

This allowed the company to keep the Infrastructure Operations team very lean, and leverage the managed services in the AWS portfolio to enhance automation in the Infrastructure and promote a DevOps culture. BEAT leverages the Amazon EC2, AWS SQL, Amazon DynamoDB, Amazon S3 and Amazon ElasticCache that allowed to reduce 90% of compute and maintenance costs.
