Minisforum makes very compact, very powerful PCs. Mini PCs usually cut a lot of corners. This one is a slightly bigger than the tiniest mini PCs, but it doesn't really cut any corners.
It's 20.5 x 20.3 x 6.93 cm and most of that is a very silent cooling system. There are six heat pipes and a couple of fans that are used to dissipate heat and exhaust it out the top and bottom. It also comes with a stand that looks sleek (imo) and elevates it for better cooling.
The HX99G I have is configured with the AMD Ryzen 9 6900X & Radeon RX 6600M, 16GB DDR5, a 512 GB M.2 gen4 NVMe SSD. I may add another drive, but I'm playing a lot of my games straight from the nas because it has a 2.5 gitabit ethernet port... so that's handy.
I'm using this unit as an overpowered PC for my living room. I only use a 1080p TV because I sit about 7-8 ft away, and from that distance I can barely tell the difference between that and 4k. So, every game I tried was over 60fps at 1080p. It can handle most at 1440p or 4k as well.
If you are running VMs, this might be an interesting option. Just load it up with a LOT of ram and a couple large m.2 SSDs. You can also use Proxmox or something and set up a drive on your NAS to provide additional storage; these are just ideas.
Let me know what you think.
