Using your Fire TV: Getting to know audio streaming for Bluetooth hearing aids
Welcome to Fire TV. In this video, we walk you through the basic uses of your Bluetooth-enabled hearing aids on your select Fire TV streaming media player.
Note that select hearing aids are currently supported with more to come.
For an optimal experience, you should be connected to a 5GHz Wi-Fi network. You should also be within 10 feet of your Fire TV device and make sure that you have line of sight of the device.
For volume control, there are several ways to adjust the streaming volume on your hearing aids.
1. First, if your remote control has volume controls, you can use that to adjust the streaming volume on your Hearing Aids at any time.
2. If your remote does not have a volume bar, you can adjust the streaming volume by going to *Settings* on the *Main Menu bar*, then *Accessibility*. Scroll down and select *Hearing Aids.*
Select your listed hearing aids, then *Volume*. There you can control the streaming volume by pressing *Fast Forward* on your remote to increase streaming volume or *Rewind* to decrease it.
On this screen, you can also mute your hearing aids, check or change your connection status, or unpair your hearing aids.
3. Finally, you can also adjust the streaming volume on your hearing aids by pressing and holding the *Home button* on your remote control.
This will activate a Quick Settings menu across the screen.
At the bottom of the menu is a slider for increasing or lowering the streaming volume. You can also *Mute* the streaming volume or *Disconnect* your hearing aids.
If you need to stop using your Bluetooth Hearing Aids on your Fire TV, for example to take an incoming phone call:
1. First, pause the program you’re watching then turn the Bluetooth setting on your smartphone or tablet back on.
2. Then disconnect your hearing aids from your Fire TV through *Quick Settings* by pressing and holding the *Home button*. Navigate down to *Hearing Aid Options*, and click *Disconnect*.
3. Since your hearing aids are always in search of a Bluetooth connection, they will quickly reconnect with your smartphone or tablet or appear on their list of available devices.
4. Once you’re reconnected, you’re able to take your call.
5. When you’ve finished your call and wish to return to your Fire TV program, turn off Bluetooth on your smartphone or tablet.
6. Then go back to *Quick Settings* by pressing and holding the Home button on your remote control and navigate down to the bottom of the screen to click on *Connect*.
