Sensus is a Xylem brand that provides innovative technologies for water, energy, and communication infrastructure. They leverage smart metering to monitor and collect metrics from thousands of IoT devices and process them in a serverless event-driven data lake hosted on AWS. In this episode, Xylem explains how millions of metrics are ingested and stored securely in Amazon Redshift clusters to meet their scaling and data governance needs. Additionally, Xylem dives into how Amazon EventBridge Scheduler reduces the need to manage custom batch jobs. Their customers receive relevant insights via email with Amazon SES, over SFTP using the AWS Transfer Family, or a web interface published by Amazon CloudFront which allows customers to generate their own reports.
