Global Fiber and Satelital deliver extraordinary network to bridge the digital divide in the Amazon

Over 500,000 people in the heart of the Amazon have easy access to the internet for the first time. This visionary project was led by the dedicated teams at GlobalFiber, Satelital Telecommunication and their partners and has opened new opportunities for the citizens of this beautiful region. A very unique and complex deployment, the fiber broadband project took into consideration the diverse, sensitive environment, choosing subsea fiber carefully placed on the floor of the Amazon river, in the Tri-border region linking Peru, Colombia and Brazil. Global Fiber’s new network, uses Nokia home broadband, Wi-Fi beacons, photonic switching and IP routing solutions as its reliable, resilient foundation for connectivity.
