This video showcases four capabilities of NVIDIA Alpamayo, the reasoning vision language action model:

- Chain-of-Thought: Alpamayo continuously reasons through its observations, conclusions, and decisions, improving driving while making its decision process more transparent.
- Verbalized Reasoning: In complex situations, the car selectively explains its reasoning aloud, giving passengers insight into the AI’s decisions and helping to build trust.
- Natural Language Q&A: Riders can ask questions about the car’s behavior or the surrounding environment, and Alpamayo responds in real time.
- Language Instructions and Commands: Passengers can request actions such as changing lanes, speeding up, taking a detour, or pulling over, and Alpamayo performs them naturally.

Together, these capabilities create a safe, transparent, and interactive driving experience.

In this video, the in‑car system is powered by the Nemotron speech voice stack on Blackwell GPU, using Parakeet 1.1B for speech recognition and Magpie Zeroshot for text‑to‑speech.
