A new approach to public computing enabled by Chromebooks

Multnomah County Library established a computer loaner program among its 19 branches that allows patrons to borrow laptops for two hours of in-library use. With low cost devices that are easy to set up and manage and require virtually no maintenance, the program resulted in over 32,000 checkouts in the last year.
