AMD has launched their much anticipated Radeon HD 6800 series of graphicss, starting with the Radeon HD 6870 and Radeon HD 6850. Both cards have been introduced as mid-range cards to compete directly with NVIDIA's GTX 460 1GB and 768MB.
The two new GPU's fill the fuzzy mid-range gap that ATI wasn't as strong in with its 5000 series, and it provides some tremendous improvements to areas such as tessellation, image quality enhancements, new multimedia functions include HDMI 1.4, Blu-Ray 3D and improve Eyefinity.
All of this comes it at $240, and $180 for the 6870 and 6850 respectively.
ATI goes head to head with NVIDIA for the graphics card sweet spot.
